I noticed during the normalization cycles that the tang was not getting fully immersed in the heat as well, (the tempering color band caught my eye) so I was curious, do you treat it later, or does it not affect the integrity of the whole piece?

I love your Stuff, been a huge fan for a long long time. Love the 3 He-Man swords you made in the past. Well I was wondering about merging this hilt into a He-Man one, taking the hollow aspects and and the way it connects to the blade. Plus the way the blade is narrower at the hilt and could flare into the width of the He-man sword. I see most swords and some how turn them into He-Man swords lol. Great Job on this as usual!!

Question. Whenever I see sword heat treatment/tempering, it never includes the tang. Is the tang supposed to remain softer than the rest of the sword?
